Dress Code

Proper class attire is required for participation in all classes. Students not wearing specified class attire will be asked to observe. No jewelry of any kind is to be worn in class. This includes rings, necklaces, earrings, watches, body jewelry, etc. This is for the safety of the dancer, other dancers, and teacher. Dancers age 8 and older must wear deodorant to class and have deodorant in their dance bag. Dancers need healthy feet to dance! Wear correct shoes for style of dance. Be sure to wear socks/tights with tap, ballet, jazz and hip hop shoes. We recommend that you come dressed to dance. Allegro is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Label all dancewear and shoes with your child’s name.

• Solid color leotard 
• Pink or skin-tone tights
• Ballet shoes (pink, canvas or leather)
• Hair in a neat bun
• Optional: ballet skirt (if permitted by instructor)

• Fitted dancewear (leotard, sports bra, or fitted top)
• Dance shorts, leggings, or jazz pants
• Hair pulled back securely (ponytail or bun)

•  Fitted dancewear (leotard, crop top, or fitted shirt)
• Leggings, shorts, or sweatpants (not too baggy)
• Barefoot or lyrical/contemporary shoes
• Hair pulled back away from the face

•  Fitted dancewear (leotard or fitted top)
• Shorts, leggings, or dance pants
• Tap shoes (black, unless told otherwise)
• Hair pulled back neatly

•   Comfortable, street-style athletic wear (t-shirt, tank, hoodie, or sweatshirt)
• Joggers, sweatpants, or athletic shorts (clean and appropriate)
• Clean, non-marking sneakers (studio-use only, not worn outside)
• Hair pulled back and secure

•  Leotard or athletic fitted top
• Shorts or leggings
• Barefoot or Acro shoe
• Hair pulled back securely

• T-shirt and black tights or jazz pants / shorts (in classes applicable)
